NICOM, Inc., an acronym for The National Information Company, and our business from our beginnings has been about information. Over 18 years ago when we began in Silver Spring, Maryland, the Internet was still in its infancy and few people had access or even knew much about it. In those early years, most of our research was manual, and computer searching was fairly limited to the use of subscription databases or using CD ROM. Of course, the Internet has changed dramatically the way all of us do research. However, there is still a vast amount of information that is not online and requires extensive hands-on digging. That is a niche that NICOM, Inc. fills expertly. Well into our second decade, we are providing honest, efficient research and information retrieval services at a reasonable price for people all over the world.

In 2000 we relocated our headquarters to Old Town Alexandria and incorporated NICOM, Inc. under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our strategic location in the DC Metro area is an ideal location for speedy access to millions of archived holdings in DC and throughout the East Coast. As the decade continued we expanded our on site locations to St. Louis, Missouri, enhancing our access to the National Personnel Records Center and increased coverage of the many Midwest archival holdings, and in Los Angeles, California, to cover the many archival holdings on the west coast including the Presidential Libraries. Consequently, we can retrieve information coast to coast.
